Bubbles bubbles bubbles!

So, after my last journal page ("Look at the flowers", found HERE) I decided to fill this Art Journal with TV / Movie / Popular Culture references!

So in keeping with that, this second page is paying homage to what is, in my opinion, one of the shortest but best scenes in Finding Nemo!

Here is the little yellow dude getting all excited about his bubbles!....

A junkies Journal!

... A Journal Junkie I mean!

Earlier this month I made my niece her very own art journal and liked it so much I vowed to make myself one (A5 size, as my existing journal is a large A4 one).

My journal

Here is my lovely niece Zahra with her first page!

I made this Art Journal using the exact same process used for one I made my niece, substituting the plain cardstock for a thick Mixed Media Paper instead!

You can find the full tutorial for it HERE.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I used the following materials:

COVER
DoCrafts Artiste Spritzing Ink (Aubergine, Gold, Mint)
Archival Ink (Watering Can, Jet Black)
Molotow Paint Marker (White, Black)
PVA Glue
Cardboard for cover, recycled from a box of "Bonio" dog biscuits
Recycled brown packaging paper
White tissue paper
Generic Script stamp
Tim Holtz stamp - Grids
Alphabet stamp set - unknown brand

INSIDE PAGES
Daler-Rowney Mixed Media Paper (250gsm / 169lb)
(I used around 15 A4 sheets which I trimmed the spiral binding off, and folded in half)

OTHER
 Crochet cotton

Most products above available from That Craft Place.

Here are some more photos:

Back cover

I over sewed the last page of each signature to the first page of the next, thus providing added stability to the binding as well as creating pockets for tags throughout the journal.

CREATE - A Craft Room plaque!

Hello and thanks once again for joining me on my blog!

Today I'd like to share with you a plaque I made from a piece of skirting board wood left behind by the Joiner after recent building work we had done at home.  He had left this lovely plank of wood outside by the bin and I couldn't just let it stay out there could I?!

Once the decorating is finished, this plaque is going in my hallway, in pride of place above my Craft Room door! Is is almost as long as the door is wide so it will be perfect!
