What Do YOU See? | Wreck This Journal

I'm here today with my last post of the week.  I cannot promise such regular posting going forward but hope to achive far more regular crafting to share with you.
                           
Again I worked im my Wreck This Journal to create this page.  After following the prompt, to "Close the Book to Make a Print", I looked at the patterns created.  I could see various things in the splotches on the page.  I contemplated turning the page into a more structured piece, outlining and adding to the shapes, but purposely decided to leave it as is, for the viewers imagination to decide what is in front of them.

Wreck This Journal | Fill This Page With Circles

Hello readers. I'm back today with another page in my Wreck This Journal, this time using the prompt "Fill This Page With Circles"
                            

             

I layered the background with circles from bottle caps along with fingerprints, and for the foreground I went with round(ish) objects, balloons!

           

Gelatos, acrylic paints and paint markers were all used in th making of this page.

Pride | Wreck This Journal

I was going to apologise once again for the long absences this past year, but I'm not sorry.  I needed the break.
                            

Now is the right time to pick up my art journals. Now is the right time to make a card or two. Now is the time where my break has done me good and I've started to feel that yearning to craft once again.

3D Art Journaling | PLANT POT

Firstly I want to apologise for being so absent. Crafting has slowed down for me of late.

But I'm still here and definitely still crafting, just slower and doing more long projects.

So today I have a large plant pot to show you. This pot had been dropped and broken. It had great sentimental value to us so I repaired it with epoxy resin and have it a facelift with acrylic paints!
                            

               

After painting I sealed it with several costs of a clear spray paint suitable for outdoor use.

GREYHOUND LOVE | REVERSE COLLAGE | ART JOURNAL PAGE

Dogs are my favourite animals.  I particularly have a soft spot for sighthounds, with 2 of my 3 dogs being lurchers.

For this art journal page, I repurposed a page from my 2017 greyhound calendar, and turned it into this page using a "reverse collage" technique.

Journaling Dark Moments

Today I would like to share with you a moment of honesty. 
            
I suffer from mental health issues in the shape of depression, anxiety and, at times, suicidal thoughts.
                            

Expressing feelings in a creative way can help make order of the jumbled and distressing thoughts swirling around in your mind in moments of crisis.

               

For the most part I have at least part of my issues under control, with the help of my GP and the charity MIND.

APRIL THE GIRAFFE

Hi folks! Today I'd like to share with you an art journal page featuring the one and only April!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll have heard about (or been obsessively watching!) April, the pregnant giraffe at Animal Adventure Park near Harpursville, New York in the US!
                            

                         
I've loved watching her and her mate Oliver as she prepares to bring a baby giraffe into the world!

                      

I hand drew and coloured April myself, and tried to approximate her markings too!
