Today I'd like to share a project using the new Die'sire Mixed Media Dies from Crafter's Companion.
These were launched yesterday on Hochanda so make sure you don't miss out!
I've joined a monthly postcard swap and this was my postcard for the first swap of the year!

Love your colours on this postcard Sam! I see you've used gesso. Did you use it all over on your background? I wondered if it would mis-shape the card (like when you use watercolours)?
ReplyDeleteHi Janet. The Gesso was only used to add the paint splatters at the end. It is best not to prep your card with gesso when using brushos in this way.
DeleteTo answer about warping card though, a Gesso base coat won't warp your cardstock.
If you do find that any technique warps your cardstock then you can tape the cardstock to your desk which will reduce warping. I also use an iron to flatten warped projects that I either didn't bother to tape down or that warped unexpectedly.
Hope this helps! xxSAMxx
Great answer - thanks, I love the splatters! I've never tried gesso on anything other than canvas. I used to stretch my paper for painting, but now I just press it in my heat press, lol.
DeleteHi Sam this is a stunning postcard. I love it. Take care. Hugs Jackie
