What did you expect? Pumpkin Juice?!

.
Well, what did you expect? Pumpkin Juice?!
~ Madam Pomfrey ~
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Hi folks, today I made this Harry Potter inspired potion bottle.

In the books, this potion is given to Harry after Gilderoy Lockhart accidentally caused the bone to disappear whilst attempting to fix a broken arm.  Renowned for its vile taste, it had Harry spitting it across the hospital wing thus prompting one of Madam Pomfrey's best lines!

As with the wedding keepsake box I made, I used this tutorial for Faux Galvanised Steel by Shelly Hickox.

I used the following materials / steps:

JAR: Douwe Egberts coffee jar.  Primed with black gesso before loosely following Shelly Hickox's Faux Galvanised Steel tutorial (link above).

SKULL: Metal skull from stash.  Primed with black gesso and painted in the same way as the box.

LABEL: Created in Microsoft Word and cut out. Aged with the Tim Holtz Wrinkle-free Distress technique using Distress Inks in Gathered Twigs and Pumice Stone.

CROCHET TRIM: From my local sewing shop Cottontail Crafts.

DecoArt paints, Pinflair glue gel and Glossy Accents all from That Craft Place.
