Welcome to another of my blog posts showing you the wonderful pages I made as part of a wonderful book swap with 13 fellow crafters dotted all over the world!
More about this swap can be found in my Book Swap Introduction HERE.
So, onto the fourth page of 12! This page was for May Carlin using her chosen theme of SEWING.
I used the following materials/steps for this page:
Fabric, lots of different fabrics! I pretty much raided my scrap box for this page and found plenty of fabrics that coordinate together nicely.
I used quite an amount of Bondaweb interfacing on this page, to give it a little structure and help with any raw edges.
The bunting was made by fusing the same pattern fabric together with Bondaweb and stitching the little triangle shapes before cutting out. These were then zig-zag stitched onto a length of bakers twine.
The yo yo flowers were made by cutting out circles of fabric roughly twice the size of the finished flower. I loosely hand tacked round the outside edge of the circle before pulling the ends tight together in the middle. Add a button and voila, ready to be glued to the finished page!
The front of the page was finished by stamping the sentiment in Watering Can Archival Ink onto calico fabric using mini alphabet stamps by Dove Craft.
The pocket on the back of the page was made from a piece of fabric folded in half and fused together with 2 layers of Bondaweb to give it structure. The lace was stitched into the reverse top of the pocket with 2 lines of straight stitch.
The tag consisted of 2 sides made separately before sandwiching together with 2 layers of Bondaweb. The tag shape was then sewn onto the piece before cutting out.
I made the front of the page and the back of the page separately before sewing together with a layer of wadding, turning right side out and top stitching to finish.

I'd like to quickly finish off by showing you lovely the page that May made for me, using my theme of Science Fiction:
Would you believe that May confirmed she had an astonishing 41 real buttons in total in her own book?!
