Steampunk (book page swap 6 of 12)

Welcome to another of my blog posts showing you the wonderful pages I made as part of a wonderful book swap with 13 fellow crafters dotted all over the world!

More about this swap can be found in my Book Swap Introduction HERE.

So, onto the sixth page of 12! This page was for Sharon Lewis, using her chosen theme of STEAMPUNK.

I used the following materials/steps for this page:

Dry wall tape on the background was heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Circle background was an embossing folder.  Sprayed with spray inks and highlighted with Gloss Mod Podge and gold metallic paint.  White dots were die cut from blue cardstock, painted white and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Corset part of the dress is made from Air Dry clay (Hobbycraft's own brand) and painted it with brown, black and gold paints.  I added brads (painted gold) to the sash belt and glossy accents to the pocket pouch and leather patch.

The skirt part of the dress is a piece of Jute, from That Craft Place.

The cogs and metal leaves are also from Lisa at That Craft Place.  I painted the cogs brown and added layers of gold, black, brown and blue paint and ink.  The metal leaves come in a gorgeous bronze colour but are easily painted to suit any project, as I did here with a spot of gold metallic paint (also from TCP!)

The project was finished off with a few other trinkets from my stash, including poppers (the sewing kind!) and a random bolt (or is it a nut, can never remember! either way, something in my house is probably minus a vital part!).
